If you’re hoping to visit the Forrest Gump plantation home while in the Savannah area, you’ll be disappointed. Did you know the home was only built for the movie? Since it wasn’t built to code, it was torn down not long after filming ended. But you can visit many of the filming locations, including Savannah’s Chippewa Square where the park bench scenes were filmed.
